Let us run, together!

Pray God's will and believe that He hears and has given what was petitioned

Do You Believe It

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him,” (1 John 5:14-15 NIV).

If we know that He hears us, we know that we have what we asked…

But do we know that? Do we believe it?

Before we can answer that, let’s consider what we’re asking. The verse says we’re to ask anything according to His will. God’s will includes His promises, to which He says yes and amen for all of them, (2 Corinthians 1:20). In Greek, “all” means “all”, not some, not part, all!

Knowing this, it seems random, and a bit awkward, to say, “I know my God hears me, but I’m not sure that I have it, or that I’ll get it…” But if unbelief is truly how we operate, then we’re not taking God’s Word as truth. Here are some things we need to know about this verse:

“We know” = we are assured. We believe it!

“We have” = we have it spiritually.

“What we asked” = the things asked for

When we pray God’s will and promises back to Him, we are showing God that not only do we take Him seriously, but we also take His Word seriously.

When you go into your prayer closet, are you getting ready to do business with Jesus, or are you going to “Let the chips fall where they may”? Let’s not be people who let the world toss us this way and that. Let’s buckle in, with heads down, and do business. Let’s be like Jesus, who said, “I have to be about My Father’s business.” Let’s approach the throne of Grace with confidence, that whenever we pray the will of God, we are assured that He hears us and that we have what we petitioned.

Who’s ready to buckle in and do business with Jesus with me?
